Breathe Deep. With the summer heat upon us, many are experiencing that it's just a little bit harder to breathe when we exercise, work, or just play outdoors. Allergens and pollution can be tough enough on our lungs, but when we add the heat that effect is intensified. The heat holds the allergens, ozone and other toxins down at ground level until evening approaches; therefore, when the heat is at it’s peak it’s hardest on our respiratory systems. Luckily, there are a few simple choices that can make a really big difference. The obvious helpers are basic health tips - not smoking, exercising daily, relaxation and deep breathing. For additional lung support, here's a quick list of things to grab next time you're at Plum Blossom.
Herban Essentials EUCALYPTUS TOWELETTES - a personal favorite! These individually packaged towellettes can be used over and over for anything you can think of! Eucalyptus is famous for opening the airways and allowing us to breathe deeper! Tuck one in the air vent of your car - throw one in the bath with you - take them to a steam room for even more effectiveness - rub your neck and back for relaxation - or simply lay one over your face and take 5 deep breaths! These are sure to work every time and are handy to have around for kids and even pets!
New Chapter's BREATHE! - a blend of traditional lung tonics including Reishi and Cordyceps to enhance lung respiration and immune functioning. This is a restorative supplement also great for asthma, smokers, and those with respiratory decline.
Texas Medicinals LUNG CLEAR - an exceptional blend of herbs in a tincture easy to use. This blend is meant to soothe and clear the lungs of debris and build-up. This is also quite effective during cold/flu season, so stock up!
